    We are pleased that you have decided to enroll in the Governors State University Dual Degree Program! Please review all program requirements carefully. We look forward to helping you meet your academic and career goals as you complete your associate and bachelor’s degrees.
     

    DUAL DEGREE PROGRAM INFORMATION

    To qualify for the Dual Degree Program, you must be a current community college student in good academic standing at one of our 17 partner community colleges.  The program is designed for associate degree-seeking students who want to graduate and make a seamless transition to Governors State University to complete their bachelor’s degrees.

    Students in the Dual Degree Program receive the following benefits:

    1. Illinois residents lock-in GovState's tuition rate based on the date of enrollment in DDP; 
    2. GovState application fee is waived and admission to is guaranteed (exceptions include programs with special requirements such as Nursing, Social Work, and Business and Applied Science);
    3. Opportunity to compete for one of three exclusive DDP scholarships (if eligible);
    4. Personalized transfer advising from a DDP Transfer Specialist to assist with completion of the associate and bachelor’s degrees in a minimum number of terms;
    5. Opportunity to participate in social and cultural activities at both your community college and GovState;
    6. Honorary regalia at the completion of both the associate and bachelor's degrees.

    To be eligible for the Dual Degree Program, students must meet the following requirements:

    1. Currently attending classes at one of our 17 partner community colleges;
    2. Enroll in the Dual Degree Program prior to completing the associate degree;
    3. At least once per semester, consult with the DDP Transfer Specialist to review progress towards the associate and bachelor’s degrees;
    4. Enroll at Governors State University the semester following the completion of the associate degree;
    5. Maintain good academic standing throughout the undergraduate program; and
    6. Consent to allow staff from GovState and your community college to share and review academic progress, enrollment status, program completion status, and financial aid eligibility and disbursement.
