The Dual Degree Program (DDP) coordinates community service activities to raise awareness of each other's communities, and learn from each other's experiences. This May, DDP will be helping Orland Grassland and Water Reserve to restore habitat for many important threatened grassland birds.
Volunteers will be removing weeds and invasive vegetation, cutting and burning invasive woody plants, collecting and spreading native seed, and collecting trash. Registration is required by Wednesday, May 9.

For this event, volunteers should prepare for variable weather, uneven terrain, physical labor, and potential hazardous insects and plants.
All necessary tools, supplies, gloves, and training will be provided by the Forest Preserves of Cook County.

Students and guests from all community college campuses and GovState are welcome to volunteer! However, youth under 18 are not permitted to attend or participate.

Further details will be provided via email the week of the event.  Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you there!
