Dual Degree Program (DDP) Scholarship Recommendation Form






    The Dual Degree Program Scholarships are competitive, and awarded annually based on transfer term. Students currently enrolled in the DDP at one of our 17 community college partners, are encouraged to apply for all DDP scholarships they are eligible for.  Students must apply for a DDP scholarship during their final, graduating term of their associate's degree (term prior to anticipated transfer.) The DDP scholarships are renewable for up to two years (four semesters, excluding summers.) 

    GSU Promise Scholarship
    was created to assist economically disadvantaged transfer students in completing a bachelor's degree at GSU.  Applicants must be eligible for the Federal Pell Grant and maintain a GPA of 2.75/4.0 or above.  Award covers the cost of tuition and fees that are not covered by the student's non-refundable aid and is renewable for a maximum of four (4) semesters (excluding summers).

    DDP Honors Scholarship is for high-achieving transfer students who are currently members of their community college Honors Program or chapter of Phi Theta Kappa and maintain a GPA of 3.5/4.0 or above.  Award covers the cost of tuition and fees that are not covered by the student's non-refundable aid and is renewable for a maximum of four (4) semesters (excluding summers).

    DDP Chicago STAR Scholar Scholarship is for high-achieving transfer students who are currently participants in the Chicago STAR Scholars Program at the City Colleges of Chicago and maintain a GPA of 3.5/4.0 or above.  Award has two options depending on transfer term and could be applied towards university housing, campus dining, or other on-campus expenses.

    Application Deadlines
    Based on intended transfer to Governors State University:
    • Spring 2024: October 5, 2023
    • Fall 2024: February 22, 2024
    • Spring 2025: October 3, 2024
    • Fall 2025: February 20, 2025

    If you are recommending the student for multiple DDP scholarships, this form will count for all applications. You do NOT need to complete a separate recommendation form for each award.
